Yes i am back.
Had some pretty intense family issues that I won’t go into here, but they were completely and utterly unexpected. They were also so important that I dropped everything to concentrate on them.
So news.
I have been promoted at work both in my job role and through a couple of newsletter articles. Several people are now running some events to raise some moeny and I am feeling more positive about kicking this all off again.
For those people in Sydney Australia there is a MS drug trial (oral!) looking for candidates. I will post details as soon as my ISP starts behaving again.

Feeling absolutely the splinters from the bottom of the mood barrel at the moment. The gains I had made fitness-wise, career-wise and project-wise seem to have evaporated in the hot sun during my latest illness. I am finding it hard to face what tomorrow will be like walking into the office.
I feel like I have put on 5-10kgs and that depresses me.
So it will be start again day tomorrow. Start again going to the gym. Start again trying to climb the corporate ladder. Start again raising money for this project.

Till about 2pm this afternoon when we went to pick up the MRI films and results. The films were ready, but they had not been written up. *insert exhasperated sigh here*
On teh way back I could feel that familiar nauseating feeling creeping back and the back of my head and forehead start to ache. I put it down to looking at the pictures as we were driving.
Then I decided this evening to test myself out again and take the kids out for dinner. Halfway through the main meal back came the nausea and my eyes and forehead started pounding again. My eyes as I write this are aching from the white bright background.
Anyway hopefully tomorrow the radiologist or whomever writes up the report should fax the results over to the nuerologist, but as he was supposed to have written the report last night anyway I have gone into my que cera cera mode.
My amateur eye says there is nothing wrong on the MRI but I really have no idea and I will be surprised if there is nothing, and I will be surprised if there is something.
Until tomorrow I guess……

And no I am not swearing. I decided to pop on over to Technorati to check out their new article, opinion, soapbox type thingo. To my surprise it was fairly quiet. Quiet enough that I went “hmmm that’s interesting, I’ll post a WTF and see what comes of it”. So I did
And here it is . Cheesy but covered what I wanted to say in the few minutes I wanted to write it.
Alas there did not seem to be a spell check or edit option so yes it has typos. But so does the main post in there. Explation…wtf?!
Anyway please pop on over and vote for NetXperiment’s WTF
p.s. WTF stands for Where’s The Fire…not What The F$%^

Quick post about me then off back to the MS posts.
After researching into Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension I would say that my symptoms would pretty much fill the bill. Mind you I find that laying down does not relieve the symptoms as quickly as I would hope. I can’t find any research on MS and this type of problem, but many many people with MS experience issues with headache, and this type of headache is more and more being correctly diagnosed, so who knows…maybe sometime in the future it will pop up as a symptom.
I am booked in for an MRI with contrast on the 12th, but as my Neurologist is now on holidays till the 13th, then not much would have happened by pushing through for an appointment sooner. Fingers crossed it comes up with something because it can be fixed
Also Squidoo had gone quiet somewhat and I thought that was because they were busy, but it seems they miss-typed my email address and I am now 3 weeks behind in the work I need to do for them
I guess this weekend will be a busy one!

That my headaches sound like low CSF pressure headaches. That is, when the cerebrospinal fluid is leaking out of your brain or spine somewhere, similar to when you have had a lumbar puncture and your CSF has been depleted (hence being told not to sit up for an hour after having one).
I have been told to drink lots of coffee and keep the fluids up. I usually drink decaf *whimpers* I won’t be able to sleep! Caffeine has a magical effect on CSF pressure, but they don’t know why. One of the treatments for low csf pressure is a caffeine drip!
Also I have to go off for another MRI, this time with contrast.
And if that doesn’t show anything then it is the dreaded lumbar puncture.
Ahh the joys of multiple sclerosis. Now off to research if there is any link between low CSF pressure and MS.

This week I was interviewed by the lovely Charles A Rovira. I really recommend that you get on down to his site and sign up for his podcasts because they are informative and entertaining. Charles did a great job and made me feel right at home while we chatted.
I think the end result is fabulous and I thank Charles for making it all happen!

An idea perculated to the surface of my mind this afternoon. I am not sure if it has been done before. No matter, I thought, it will cost me about $1 to list my idea for an auction on eBay and lets see how it goes.
So please visit my auction and tell me what you think!
